Manne is published by BeAtitud Health (“BeAtitud Health,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains what information Manne collects, how it is used, and how it is protected. It applies to the Manne mobile application available on Google Play and the App Store, and to the website at beatitudhealth.com/manne.
Manne is provided to patients and caregivers through their healthcare provider or registered dietitian, using an access code. By using Manne, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
This policy also covers the information collected from registered dietitians and parish staff who use the related HeartStep Provider Portal and Parish Portal to support patients and parish communities. Those portals require their own account sign-up (name, email, and facility or parish information) separate from the access-code model used by patients and caregivers.
1. Information We Collect
Account and access information
If you use Manne in caregiver mode, a separate caregiver access code is used to connect your account to the patient you support.
Health and wellness information you enter
- Mood, energy, and daily check-ins
- Blood pressure, steps, and other vitals you choose to log
- Stress check-ins
- Meals, recipes, and grocery items you select or log
This information is stored only on your device. It is not transmitted to or stored on BeAtitud Health’s servers, and it is not shared with your healthcare provider or care team. It remains under your control and is only as secure as the device it’s stored on.
The one exception is when you use Foody, described below — the ingredients, grocery items, and meals you’ve logged are used to give Foody context for its responses, which means that food-related information (not your vitals, mood, or other health data) is sent off your device at that point. See “Messages you send to Foody, our AI cooking assistant” below for details.
Program engagement information shared with your provider
- Your current program day and session number
- Your daily check-in streak
- The date you last opened the app
- Whether your access code is active
This engagement information does not include your vitals, mood, meal logs, or any other health data you enter — only how far along you are in the program and when you last used it. It is associated with your access code and is visible to your healthcare provider through their provider portal.
Care plans and notes from your provider
Parish and community information
Messages you send to Foody, our AI cooking assistant
- The message you type to Foody
- The ingredients you’ve told Manne you have at home
- Your current weekly grocery list
- Meals Foody has recently suggested to you, so it can avoid repeating them
- A short summary of the current conversation (for example, the ingredient or meal you’re discussing, and what you’re trying to accomplish), so Foody can follow up naturally without you having to repeat yourself
This is limited to food, recipe, and grocery-related content. We do not send your name, vitals, mood, stress check-ins, or any other personal or health information as part of a Foody request — only the food-related content described above. Foody is also instructed not to answer medical, nutrition-as-medicine, or health questions, and will redirect you back to recipes and meals if you ask.
A device identifier (not tied to your name or access code) is also sent so we can apply a daily usage limit to this feature and prevent misuse.
Information from your healthcare provider
2. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Verify your access to Manne and connect caregiver accounts to the patients they support
- Let your healthcare provider see your program progress and engagement, so they can support you effectively
- Deliver nutrition guidance, serving prescriptions, and progress notes your dietitian creates for you
- Display parish events and food pantry information, where applicable
- Generate Foody’s responses to your recipe and meal questions
- Maintain and improve the app
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your information to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services
Manne relies on the following third-party service providers:
- Supabase (database and backend infrastructure), for access code validation, program engagement data, care plans and progress notes from your provider, and parish-related features.
- Anthropic, to power Foody, Manne’s in-app cooking assistant. Your messages to Foody, along with related food context (ingredients at home, grocery list, recently suggested meals, and a short conversation summary), are sent to Anthropic to generate Foody’s responses. Only food and recipe-related content is sent this way — never your name, vitals, mood, or other personal or health information.
Manne does not include any advertising or analytics software development kits (SDKs). We do not use Manne to serve you ads, and no advertising partner receives information about your use of the app.
4. Data Storage and Retention
Health and wellness data you enter (vitals, mood, stress, meal logs) is stored locally on your device using your device’s standard storage. This data remains on your device until you delete the app, use the app’s reset feature, or clear your device’s storage. We do not have access to this data and cannot retrieve, view, or restore it on your behalf.
Program engagement signals (current day, session, streak, last-active date), care plans, progress notes, account, and parish-related data stored on our servers is retained for as long as your access code remains active, or as needed to support the program your healthcare provider has set up. You may ask your healthcare provider or contact us to request deletion of this information.
Messages you send to Foody, and the related food context described above, are processed to generate a response and are not stored by us beyond what is needed to apply the daily usage limit for that feature.
5. Children's Privacy
Manne is intended for use by adult patients and caregivers enrolled through a healthcare provider or care program. Manne is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
6. Your Choices
- Local data: Vitals, mood, stress check-ins, and meal logs stay on your device. You can review, edit, or delete this data at any time within the app, or remove it entirely by resetting the app or uninstalling it.
- Engagement data and care plans: Your program day, session, streak, last-active date, and progress notes from your provider are tied to your access code. If you ask your healthcare provider to delete your code, this deletes your program membership along with your progress notes. Contact your healthcare provider or us to request this.
- Foody: Using Foody is optional. If you prefer not to have your pantry, grocery, or meal information sent for processing as described above, simply don’t use the Foody chat feature — the rest of Manne works without it.
- Faith mode: You can switch between Catholic (Prayer) mode and a secular mode at any time in Settings. This choice only affects what content is shown in the app and does not change what data is collected.
- Account access: To close your account or request deletion of server-stored data, contact us using the information below or speak with your healthcare provider.
7. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information associated with your Manne account, including the use of access codes rather than open registration, and industry-standard security practices from our service providers. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the app. Continued use of Manne after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
9. Contact Us
If you have questions about this privacy policy or how your information is handled, contact us at:

10. Requesting Data Deletion
To request deletion of your Manne data, email enterprise@beatitudhealth.com with your access code and a request to delete your account. Deleting your access code removes your program membership and progress notes from our servers. You can also make this request through your healthcare provider.
This policy describes Manne’s data practices as of the date above. It does not constitute legal advice. BeAtitud Health recommends having this policy reviewed by qualified legal counsel before publication, particularly with respect to applicable health privacy, children’s privacy, and data protection laws in the regions where Manne is offered.
